Geplaatst op 22-09-2022
Rome is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. Everyone should see this beautiful city once. You will have seen many other large cities after a few days, but this is not the case with Rome. There is so much to see and do in the city that you could easily stay here for more than a week. This is not surprising, because Rome has an enormous history of thousands of years old. Many large, special buildings, such as the Colosseum and the Pantheon, are still in very good condition. Many parts of the Roman Forum have also been preserved. Are you going on holiday to Rome this year and do you want to visit these buildings? Then there are a number of points you should pay attention to.
The Roman Forum (Forum Romanum), Colosseum, Pantheon and most of the other impressive buildings in Rome were all built during the time of the Roman Empire. What is particularly special about these structures is how well they have been preserved over the course of history. That is why these sights still attract huge numbers of visitors from all over the world. You also have sights in Rome that were built later, such as St. Peter's Basilica around 1500.
Tickets and Roma city pass
What you have to take into account is that you need tickets for many sights. Often you can also buy tickets for several attractions at the same time ;like the Roma Pass, which can save you money. For example, for around 20 euros you have tickets for the Colosseum Rome, Palatine Hill and also for the Roman Forum. Tickets for children are always a lot cheaper. It is also possible to get a guided tour, but for this you pay a bit more money.
In Rome you also have the option to buy the “Roma Pass” or the “Rome Tourist Card”. This gives you access to multiple attractions. You can often also arrange access to public transport with such a pass. You can sometimes even combine certain sights and public transport in a Roma Pass. So check the internet before you leave. This way you can find the best deal, with access to the buildings you want to see.
